The Blogger

Hey there. So since you clicked on The Blogger tab, I take it you want to meet me. So here I am! My name is Katie Rybakova, and I blog for Seminole High Performance. I also work as a coach here, with my Seminole High Performance coaching team, who you can meet if you look at the The Coaches tab. A little about me; I'm twenty-three, I'm currently a doctoral student in English Education (I also received a bachelors and a masters in English Education), and along with my extreme nerd-ness in loving books, writing, and learning in general, I love to teach, whether it be grammar, literature, or tennis. I played four years for Florida State University at the number one and two spots in singles and all three spots in doubles. My parents are tennis coaches too; you can say I was raised in a tennis family. I guess saying I'm Russian would be adding to the stereotype that most Russians play tennis, but I did grow up here in America. I'm kind of a mutt, I guess.

Because of my aversion to long paragraphs which I tend to roll into, and because the average attention span of an internet browser is about two seconds, I won't hold you much longer. Considering you've gotten through that entire paragraph and onto the second is frankly an awesome achievement, and I applaud you. Because of your interest, and because I just finished watching So You Think You Can Dance on TV and they did this cool nine-second getting to know the dancer kind of bit, I guess I'll add some random facts about the blogger:

  • I speak Russian
  • My goal is to get a PhD in Education and study educational research, especially how technology affects students
  • I like love chocolate
  • The best present you can buy me is a gift card to Barnes & Nobles, or a whole heap of sticky notes
  • I have seven different colored sticky notes on my computer at the moment
  • I have a cocker spaniel named Lucky
  • And a brother named Alex :)
  • I've taught 6th grade and 8th grade Language Arts, as well as some college courses, like content literacy and multicultural literature
  • I've been in most of the Caribbean traveling to tournaments
  • I was ranked top 150 in juniors in ITFs
  • My nicknames in college: Peanut, Kit-Kat, Kat

Well, I totally went over nine seconds. Oh well. If you want to learn more about me, or suggest a blog for me to write, please don't hesitate to write to me. I'll answer!

That's all for now, tootles!
